Thank you for your interest in our weekly “Prayer and Share.” This week, we’re going to meet by candlelight and explore “The Christmas Story – What does it mean to us today and throughout the year?” through readings from the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, songs, prayer, questions, discussion, and the sharing of personal experiences. We will look at the beloved Christmas story and have the opportunity to share personal Christmas Love stories – perhaps telling of healing resulting from the Christ in our daily lives.
Christmas songs tell us that “it’s the most wonderful time of the year” but for many people it is a difficult time. The illusion of the secular Christmas story sometimes give the appearance of “perfect” families, gifts, parties, and friendships, which can leave people feeling left out or wondering if their lives are lacking.
Questions to consider:
- What is the “true” meaning of Christmas? How can we daily live the qualities of the Christ and see them expressed?
- How can we enjoy the “holiday season” and not get bogged down?
- In what ways can we bring – and keep – our focus on the Christ?
