Jan 30 – Radical Acts

This week, we’ll explore the topic of “Radical Acts” (inspired by http://time4thinkers.com/about-radical-acts) through readings from the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, songs, prayer, questions, discussion, and the sharing of personal experiences.

Following on the Gathering theme from Sunday, do you really love Jesus enough to do the radical acts that he expected of his followers?  Jesus taught it; can you live it?

Be childlike.

Be a friend of lepers, prostitutes, “undesirables”

Cast the beam out of your own eye.

Challenge Pharisees

Do good to people who hate you

Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter strangers, visit prisoners

Forgive 70×7

Heal the sick, cast out evil, raise the dead

Let your light shine

Live more abundantly

Lose your life to find it

Love your neighbor as yourself

Multiply loaves and fishes

Seek the kingdom first–don’t worry about food/drink/clothing

Sell what you have–give to the poor

Take up your bed and walk

Travel without a wallet

Turn water into wine

Walk on water

Wash someone’s feet

Let’s share our successes (and failures) at being radical actors.  Thoughts and testimony related to other topics are welcome as well.
