Brentwood Church has sponsored two Christian Science lectures in classrooms. The first was last November in an American religions class at Webster University. The request came from the professor, who had met our lecturer, Maryl Walters, at an Interfaith Dialogue breakfast. She offered to speak on Christian Science if he ever needed a speaker, and a few months later he emailed and asked her to speak on Mary Baker Eddy. There were about 20 students in the class, and we supplied them with copies of Science and Health, which they all appreciated.
More recently, there was a lecture on April 29 at Lutheran South High School in their comparative religions class of about 20 students. The teacher invites Maryl every spring (and often in the fall) to talk to her classes. We are striving to focus on lectures that speak to the public, and these are excellent opportunities to do that.
