Jan 23 – This week, we’ll explore the topic of “Zipline and Red Sea Experiences” through readings from the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, songs, prayer, questions, discussion, and the sharing of personal experiences. Have you ever encountered life’s unexpected changes and feel you are standing on a cliff’s edge? What if instead of a cliff, it is a platform from which to fly? Think of a zipline platform; you are perched ready to zip free of restraint to the next platform! Scary yes, until you realize you are supported in flight and also by others reaching out to catch you on the next platform.
This can be an analogy for God’s caring as we preen our wings for flight (or hook up the zipline), let go of fear and lift our feet for the next step, guided as Moses was when he crossed the Red Sea. Mary Baker Eddy tells us, “As the children of Israel were guided triumphantly through the Red Sea, the dark ebbing and flowing tides of human fear, — as they were led through the wilderness, walking wearily through the great desert of human hopes, and anticipating the promised joy, — so shall the spiritual idea guide all right desires in their passage from sense to Soul, from a material sense of existence to the spiritual, up to the glory prepared for them who love God.”
Perhaps you have had a “Red Sea” experience that you would like to share where God guided you through the raging waters as you journeyed. Or you may wish to join us and hear from others how they “were guided triumphantly through the Red Sea….”
Thoughts and testimony related to other topics are always welcome as well.
